I had wondered what happened to the people in Lebanon after that huge explosion in July 2020. Well this is on the ground first person reporting and it sounds about as bad as it could get. Each account is told by a woman who experienced it up close and personal.
What I didn’t realize was how this is just one of many catastrophes and how they layer on top of each other to make women’s lives untenable. The author explains how social mores, political corruption and religious violence against women would make anyone want to flee if at alll possible.I had wondered what happened to the people in Lebanon after that huge explosion in July 2020. Disparate group of women become warriors for the Plains Indians after being mistreated by the army. This third and last book of the series is very unsatisfying. It goes back and forth between five generations of different characters and I found it to so confusing that I gave up halfway through.Disparate group of women become warriors for the Plains Indians after being mistreated by the army. I have had no exposure to transgender, hardly any to LGBTQ individuals. I heard this author interviewed on NPR recently and he seemed to have a sense of humor about his transition. I hoped to glean how a person realizes they are the wrong sex, how they deal with it on a day to day basis, and how they make the decision to proceed. I learned all that and waaay more, realizing how little I know. I don’t understand why so many people want to abuse and stigmatize and prevent them from getting treatment and live a full life.I have had no exposure to transgender, hardly any to LGBTQ individuals.
