What a fabulous romp! It is so great to see Bartimaeus unshackled from Nathaniel. And the new mortal that summons him is "lovely dark and deep".
At first I thought the dissing of Solomon was worse than blasphemous -- but it ends up ok, beautiful even. So we can recommend this to our Jewish and Christian friends who hold the biblical stories dear -- we may just need to warn them.
You won't be disappointed if you liked the earlier Bartimaeus books. He's as irrepressible as usual.
