This book tells the story of two Army nurses, one sent to serve in the Pacific theater, the other to France. Both see sights that are indescribably horrific, and there were several points at which I didn't think I could read any further. But I did, and was glad I finished, because it gave me such an appreciation for the valor, compassion, and grit of these women who served our country. Few received recognition of any kind because they didn't bear arms, but they are heroes in my heart.
