I like Cath Kidston; I have one of the journals with her designs, and I think it's gorgeous.
This book's goal is to give you some of her patterns, and show you how to use them on a variety of projects. I liked about half of the designs, but wasn't a fan of a lot of the projects.
The book has a couple pages of basic instructions on how to do the different techniques used in the projects.
It's worth checking out, you may like the projects better then I did, and there are a lot of nice patterns that you could (with a little skill and creativity) adapt to your own projects.
