The illustrations in this book were extremely charming and made up for the lack of action. Bigfoot was a spectacular dog companion, too. Julia is likable enough and the supporting characters had potential. Besides Julia and Bigfoot walking around the neighborhood, there just wasn't much going on. This book will appeal to new readers who tend to worry about change. Seeing Julia learn that the only way out is through will be a helpful principle to learn in life.
