Cairo, 1912. The case started simply enough for the Ministry of Alchemy, Enchantments, and Supernatural Entities: handle a possessed tram car. Soon, however, Agent Hamed Nasr and his new partner, Agent Onsi Youssef, are exposed to another side of Cairo stirring with suffragettes, secret societies, and sentient automatons. It's a race against time to protect the city from an encroaching danger that crosses the line between the magical and mundane.

Djèlí Clark recently received a 2019 Nebula award for his short story, “The Secret Lives of the Nine Negro Teeth of George Washington”, and is an author you will want to keep on your radar. The Haunting of Tram Car 015 came to me by way of the high praise given by NPR and I am glad it did. Mr. Clark does an outstanding job of crafting a story that feels much larger, more magical than the length of a novella. It's a book that is difficult to reduce to a soundbite, yet worth checking out!
