New college student Beca dreads socializing more than anything else in college. Somehow, she finds her way into a weird mix of people within her school's female singing a capella group after an odd and unexpected interaction in the women's showers. Now on the team and preparing for competitions, she must face the struggles of college life while also battling a newly budding romance and finding herself. Beca brings new sounds and new beats to the table when it comes to the competition, which shows a capella in a new light where it has never been seen before. This movie will bring laughs, tears, and inspiration.

Pitch Perfect follows the story of a girl named Beca who joins the a cappella group at her brand new college. She soon learns the competitiveness of it all but makes some amazing friends and memories, and also has a great time in college. One of the major highlights of this movie is probably the fantastic actress Rebel Wilson whose hilarious character refers to herself as “Fat Amy” and makes numerous funny remarks throughout the film. I would recommend this film to other teens who like comedy, a capella, or just music in general, and rate it a 4/5.

Is "idiotic" or "moronic" too strong a term? NO!

Stock, off the shelf plot and characters made palatable by some good singing and a few chuckles.

I like Anna Kendrick but not this film. It was way too shallow and too cliched. Don't waste two hours watching this film! Life is short!

I really enjoy this movie, but the sequel (as usual) not nearly as much. Be sure to watch for a brief appearance by Minnesota's own Har Mar Superstar as Clef #2. I have not read the adult nonfiction book of the same title on which it was based. Pitch Perfect is rated PG-13 for sexual material, language and drug references.

Lots of fun. I wouldn't have discovered it if it wasn't for my daughter. Lots of singing, bit o humour, some characters, and a plot to tie it together. It's a laugh.

Lots of laughs and I really enjoyed the music! Brought back college show choir memories.

A departure from my normal viewing fare, Pitch Perfect was surprisingly fun. Cliched, most definitely. Lacking depth, of course. And even in its ridiculous premise it doesn't take itself very seriously. That being said, it was fun.

Love this movie, I think it one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time.

Entertaining fantasy about a bunch of riffraff young women who never had to attend classes in a fictional music college. Apha Bellas Aubrey, played by Ann Camp (The Help, True Blood etc.,) was the best draw.

Many pages of quotes in IMDb:

Aubrey: What's your name?
Fat Amy: Fat Amy.
Aubrey: You call yourself Fat Amy?
Fat Amy: Yeah, so twig bitches like you don't do it behind my back.

Fat Amy: Even though some of you are pretty thin, you all have fat hearts, and that's what matters.

Aubrey: As you can see, Kori is not here. Last night, she was Treble-boned. She has been disinvited from the Bellas.
Beca: That oath was serious?
Aubrey: Dixie Chicks serious!

*THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!*

The Barden Bellas accomplish something that's never been done before, being an all girl group and going to the icca finals. Their rivals the Treblemakers eventually win against the Bellas. After 4 months the antagonist Beca arrives at the Barden college and her first encounter with Jesse happens when she's greeted by the campus guide.

She goes to her room, and her dad visits her telling her that Dj-ing is not a career. she fights back and her dad eventually cracks and says "try one semester joining groups and all those kind of things and if you really don't like it... i'll pay money for you to go to La"

Beca eaves to go to the "clubs day" while Jesse the other supporting actor meets his roommate and goes to the day too. His roommate Benji (the magician a.k.a the creepy kid) tells him that the only place to be is with the treblemakers on the Barden campus.

Then it goes to another supporting actress (rebel Wilson) joining the Bellas Aubrey and Chloe are the main girls from the previous bella group. and Beca receiving the invitation. Later Beca applies for the radio station internship and she meets Jesse there....

Beca goes and takes a shower when Chloe hears her singing David Guetta's "Titanium" and she insists for Beca to join the Bellas. Audition day goes by and Chloe is surprised Beca doesn't show up... but she does, not with the required song but with "Cups (you're gonna miss me)" (which I think is awesome..) originally by Lulu and the Lampshades.

Beca's accepted and they train, Jesse who also auditioned is accepted into the Treblemakers also trains with the Trebles. As training goes on Jesse and Beca's relationship grows closer and closer.

the riff-off comes and Beca gets mad at the Trebles for taking the bella's microphone. Jesse insists to give Beca a full "movie-cation" ( a movie education) and so she listens ... for the most part.

The bellas use the same song they used last year at finals where they choked for the qualifiers. At the semi's the bellas do the same song again... but this time Beca decides to do her own spin on it by adding in La Roux's "bulletproof" into the mix. The group is shocked and they lose their spot in the finals. there the Bellas get into a fight and with a simple misunderstanding Beca gets arrested. Beca screams at Jesse later for calling her dad, who nullified the offer for Cali.

Over Spring break Chloe gets her Nodes removed from her vocal chords (which later leads her to being able to sing deep). Beca really decides to watch one of the movies that Jesse wanted her to watch.
Beca talks to Jesse about their "relationship" and Jesse says it's over and she needs to think of how she treats other people. She goes to her dad and asks what to do... but her dad doesn't know.

then the bellas get a call. The boy in the other acapella group was not in college so their back in. The group misses Beca though because she quit. But when Beca comes back she has an idea to do a sharing circle. Aubrey the leader hands her pitch pipe ( the leader.... artifact) to Beca. Who does a completely new mashup/ set list.

The Bellas ram full-force into their training while the Trebles find out that their main guy- bumber is leaving to record for..... and so Jesse decides to try to get his roommate Benji into the group... which works but... lets just say in the end, the trophy goes to the bellas.
