Thirty-plus years after emerging from the Sunset Strip and backyard Southern California beer parties, Van Halen resurfaces with this album that sounds like a bootleg demo from the 70s! Roth, Eddie and crew revisit their old LA stomping grounds by resurrecting some old tunes with riffs arguably belonging on their eponymous debut album. The guitar solos burn, the lyrics are pure Diamond Dave and with no shame (and no ballads) Van Halen successfully regains the high ground as the greatest American rock band.
I agree this record was not a masterpiece but it was great to see Van Halen back with Dave and rocking again.Bullethead She's The Woman Blood On Fire As Is and Honeysweetbabydoll are my favorite songs and the best ones on the album .it is a rocking album and better than a lot of crap passing for rock music these days. any Eddie Van Halen one of the greatest players ever and Diamond Dave is better than nothing from VH.I hope this is not the last music Eddie and co release don't know there future at this point!reccomended for any VH or metal fans!
Roth isn't the best singer (was he ever?), but the band is SMOKING HOT on this album.
If you haven't heard DLR is back with VH and they've made a 50/50 record. No Michael Anthony so the best song, She's the Woman doesn't sound as good as it could. But they are 60 so what do you want? I could write more if it was 1989... but it isn't.
kinda weak but lots of guitar.
