Very difficult to give this one a "star" rating. In 2013, I took the 4 CDs and made one solid 78 minute collection of 18 songs that I listen to quite often. So, one quarter of this set is 5 stars and the rest is "not my cup of tea." It's not that the performers aren't good, it's just that the interpretations of the songs aren't noteworthy - I didn't even take Bob's contribution. If you grew up with Dylan (like I did), then the set is worth a listen once. "Ballad of Hollis Brown," "Property of Jesus" and "Political World" are three stand-out tracks. If you are interested in duplicating my disc, copy CD 1: 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, CD 2: 8, 10, 12, CD 3: 7, 8, 17, CD 4: 2, 3, 4, 7, 14, 15, 5 (I like ending with live songs). Enjoy!

May 4 2016, I haven't listened to all of these yet, but, some I hate and some I love! My favourite so far is Maroon 5's version of 'I Shall Be Released'. Love it. S'going on my mp3 player tonight!

The "Chimes of Freedom" is like looking a box from the top, the sides, the bottom and the same inside the box. This 4 CD set has all types of musical performers do their own arrangements of Bob Dylan's songs. Probably no one has a broad enough taste in music to like every group and their interpretation. For Bob Dylan fans it offers a new perspective on your favorite Dylan tunes. It just might excite you!
